Data Protection Policy and GDPR
St. Vincent’s Foundation (SVF) commits to the responsibility to safeguard any information you provide to us and only to use it for the purpose intended when it is provided.
Specifically SVF undertakes:
- To retain only information that is necessary to support donors and fundraisers in their activities in support of SVF e.g. names, postal addresses, email addresses and telephone numbers.
- To ensure that we will contact you only in relation to those fundraising and donor activities and not in selling or canvassing further support.
- To hold contact information for a maximum of 3 years from the last interaction with the donor or fundraiser. In relation to donations “in-memory” we retain the contact information to facilitate further donations at anniversaries.
- To retain correspondence files for the purpose of servicing the relationship with donors and fundraisers and to dispose of such details after a period of 5 years from the last contact with such donors or fundraisers.
- To retain payment information to accommodate donations only for the period required to make the relevant payments. Debit or Credit Card details will be destroyed immediately after processing. Cheque details will be destroyed after the expiration of the normal bank clearing cycle (c.7 working days).
- To have confirmation from outside parties involved in processing donations on behalf of SVF (e.g. STRIPE Payments and AIB Merchant Services) that they have the necessary system controls to ensure the safety of your payment details and to delete details immediately on completion of the payment.
- To ensure that personal information held by SVF will be defended against unlawful access by the data security systems and procedures of St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group and UCD.
- To respond to Subject Access Requests within one month of receipt of authentic applications.
