Muslim Women Together – Annual Charity Food Festival 2025 – fundraising for the Liver Unit

27/03/2025

“Muslim Women Together” is a local community group in Castleknock involved in community work towards positive integration into Irish society. For the past 19 years, the group has fundraised for various charities including St Francis Hospice, The Alzheimer’s Society, Merchants Quay Ireland, Dublin Simon Community, Our Lady’s Children Hospital.

In memory of a dear friend Dr Mohamed Hilal, who passed away in December 2024, they held their annual Charity Food Festival in February this year with all proceeds going to the Liver Unit here in St. Vincent’s. They raised a fantastic sum of €6,000 for the Liver Unit in his memory.

We are most grateful to organiser Doaa Morsy and her friends who made the Food Festival such a success and to all who supported this wonderful fundraising event.

Doaa and some of her group recently called into St. Vincent’s to present the fundraising proceeds.

Pictured at the cheque presentation are Doaa Morsy with some of her friends from “Muslim Women Together” Nada, Sara, Naglaa & Elham along with Liver Unit & I.C.U. staff members Ross MacNicholas, Julie Tony, Omar El-Sherif, Karl Pratt O’Brien, Dennis Wedgeworth, Claire Best, Sandra Wheatley, Edel Dolan, Samantha Kane, Michele Bourke & Jeya Subramanian
