Eamonn & Mary Burke’s St. Stephen’s Day Charity Swim for the Liver Unit

For each of the last ten years, Eamonn & Mary Burke from Arklow, have braved the elements of the Christmas season to take to the water, raising funds for the Liver Unit here in St. Vincent’s.  When most of us are warm in our homes, Mary & Eamonn with an enthusiastic group of participants and supporters, complete a Sea Swim to raise funds for Liver Unit patients.

 This year the event raised €4,390 and over ten years they have contributed almost €60,000, which is a vital support to our transplant programme and to patient care and research.

 We are deeply indebted to the Burke family and all the legion of participants, organisers and supporters.
