Collen Pole 2 Pole 2020 Charity Cycle for Cancer Care in St. Vincent’s
11/12/2020
The staff of Collen Construction have held a Charity Cycle annually over the last four years, contributing towards employee wellbeing and raising funds in support of the local communities across which Collen operates. This year, the Covid-19 outbreak presented difficult challenges and brought Collen project teams in Ireland, Germany and Sweden together, while staying apart, to fundraise in support of their local communities. The 2020 event took place over the weekend of 25th September and raised an incredible €61,000 in support of chosen charities in Ireland, Germany and Sweden.
The participants planned to cycle, within their own locality, to a total of 20,000 Km (the distance between the North and South Poles). The outcome was that they, in fact, completed a stunning 25,000 Km. This gigantic effort enabled support to many charities and worthy causes.
In memory of their dearly departed colleague Conor O’Carroll, Collen Construction donated €5,000 from the event for St. Anne’s Cancer Care here in St. Vincent’s for which we are most grateful
