Clay Pigeon fundraiser for the Liver Unit
02/11/2017
East Cork Gun Club had a Clay Pigeon Shoot event at Belvelly, Cobh on the 22nd October to raise money for the Liver Unit in St. Vincent’s University Hospital. A popular member of the Club, Dara O’Connell, received a liver transplant in the hospital a year ago and his mother Jeanette was instrumental in organising the fundraising.
Boosted by a raffle and sales of refreshments, the Club raised a fantastic total of €5,300. This is a major contribution to the vital work of the Liver Unit.
An enormous number of volunteers made all this possible and we are extremely grateful to them. We also appreciate the sponsorship from local businesses, which was highlighted by Chairman Shane Halligan at the cheque presentation.
